The Principia Upper School, Missouri
I don’t want to be that woman who just muddles through in her own isolated world. I’d like to connect and reach fro everyone that is hungry for knowledge and love. I love to push beyond barriers of nationality and culture to discover that humanity really is connected.
In school, I’m involved in many activities including cross-country, student council, and theatre arts. I love running cross-country because it requires discipline, humility, and courage. These experiences at school have been valuable in developoing my ability to be a leader and prove myself capable under pressure.
In Peru, I’ll more fully develop the ability to reach beyond my comfort zone with a joyful attitude. This trip will encourage me to challenge the limits we place on each other and ourselves. I will be part of a diverse team that will require immediate trust.
I’m an effective leader because I’m always questioning commonly accepted beliefs. I think on my feet. I have learned that to be an effective leader I must practice patience, compassion, and mental stamina. I strive each day to be selfless. More than anything, I love to love. I am prepared to begin this journey.
