The hiking experience on the Super Inca Trail will be the greatest athletic challenge of my life. I have never hiked 6-8 hours before! I think it will reinforce my ability to do anything that I set my mind to.

At school, I am Student Council President, a cheerleader, involved in Academic Team, and was named the 2004-2005 Student of the Year. I like to hang out with my friends, shop, surf on the Internet, travel to places I have never been, meet new people, and learn new things. I believe being a good role model for the younger students is very important. I am able to be that role model through the many activities in which I am involved. When I set a good example for the younger students, I hope that they realize the decisions that they make now will affect their entire lives.

I have learned you have to be strong in order to get things accomplished. I am looking forward to our trip to Peru. On this journey I hope to meet new people, learn about different cultures, how people’s everyday life is different, travel to a country that I have never been to, and see things that I have never seen before. This is going to be an experience of a lifetime. I hope to take the lessons I learn on this journey and apply them to the rest of my life.

I believe a good leader is a person who is committed to their duties in which they are involved. A good leader is always on top of things and has a strong values system. I believe I am a good leader. My leadership characteristics and abilities help me to always be ready for any challenge that is ahead of me.
