My name is Alysha. I was born in Great Falls, Montana, but I’ve lived the majority of my life in Wichita, Kansas. I’m currently a freshman at Rice University in Houston studying physics. In my spare time, I love to sing, read, play the piano, and go to the movies. On campus, I sing with an all girls a cappella group, and, when I can afford a break from studying, I enjoy getting out and exploring the city of Houston. I’ve been totally blind since birth due to an eye condition called Leber’s Congenital Amaurosis. My insatiable curiosity about the world around me and passion for experiencing new things has led me to try everything from sky diving to rock climbing to scuba diving. This trip to Mt. Kilimanjaro will undoubtedly be one of the biggest challenges, most effective team-building exercises, richest learning experiences, and most life-changing journeys I have ever experienced. I am truly fortunate to be a part of this team and this trip.
My hobbies and interests are: I love reading, singing, doing outdoor activities, playing the piano, traveling, and going to movies.
