Travel Channel Media and Afar Foundation partner with Global Explorers

We welcome two new partners who share our passion for the life-changing power of immersive travel: Travel Channel Media and the Afar Foundation. Both Afar and Travel Channel Media have pledged generous amounts of funding and support to help groups of low-income students participate in Global explorers Programs in 2010. Each partnership is unique and independent from the other but share similar goals. Travel Channel Media will send Washington DC students to Costa Rica and will include professional media skills development pre-trip similar to their Travel Channel Academy. Drawing on resources from its Afar Magazine and Afar Media, students in New York City and San Francisco will learn photography and writing skills prior to an educational expedition to Costa Rica.
