At Global Explorers, we all have a story to tell about how travel fundamentally changed our lives. Creating these travel moments for others is at the heart of what we do. Our educational programs give students a sense of who they are, what they believe and what they hope to become. Application Deadline for September-May Internship: June 1st (applicants reviewed on a rolling basis, meaning we interview and accept qualified applicants as they apply)

September 2011-May 2012:

15 hours per week, flexible schedule, three week holiday break during winter recess, unpaid but includes travel experience during the summer following your internship.

Marketing & Outreach

Gain AUTHENTIC marketing experience with Customer Relationship Management, Internet Marketing, SEO, Direct Marketing, Conference Exhibiting and Presenting, Promotions, and Publicity / Public Relations. Global Explorers is seeking an intern who is interested in helping us with the development and implementation of marketing strategies for our nonprofit organization.

Program Support

Learn about all aspects of nonprofit management through our general program internship. You'll gain exposure to fundraising, marketing, education and much more. This is the jack-of-all trades internship - well suited to someone who likes to dabble in lots of different tasks.

Leading the Way

Help design, organize and implement our programs combining students with and without disabilities. You’ll work directly with participating students and their families as you plan preparatory curriculum lessons, our retreat, the Leading the Way Expeditions and the follow-up Service Leadership Project.

Education

The education intern will assist Global Explorers with the educational content of its programs. This internship has a strong emphasis everything from curriculum to program development and is well suited to someone with an interest in teaching, formally or informally.

Internship Qualifications

First and foremost, we want travel to inspire you. In addition we look for: A self-motivated initiator who can work well on his/her own; Detail-oriented; Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; Experience with marketing, development and/or fundraising;

Experience working in a leadership/teaching role with middle and high school students; Academic experience in natural sciences, business, social science; International travel experience; Public speaking and outreach experience.

Summer 2011: Application Deadline: March 1st

15 hours per week, flexible schedule, June 1-August 15, unpaid

Our summer interns will assist with our educational curriculum development. Past experience working with youth in a formal or informal setting a must!
