Dinner in the Dark

Discover the true meaning of vision with this a unique opportunity to spend an evening dining in the dark while learning the true meaning of teamwork and overcoming adversity from world renown blind adventurer, Erik Weihenmayer.

Your unforgettable Dinner in the Dark experience will:

- Inspire your corporate audience and leave them talking about the experience for months to come.

- Propel participants to think in bold new ways about the nature of their own vision and how they approach and conquer challenges.

- Help your audience gain new insight into issues facing the blind and others with disabilities.

Images captured by both blind and sighted participants on Erik’s field expeditions will be displayed at a pre-dinner cocktail reception. Guests will also experience tactile photography, a revolutionary process that allows the blind to experience the joy and power of photography.

What others are saying:

“Our leaders have been talking about this experience for weeks.  In a world full of unique leadership experiences, this one stands out as something that sparks insights, discussions and meaning.”
– George Heinrichs, CEO of Intrado

“Your impact at our meeting was, in a word, unforgettable.”
– Glenn T. Majeski, Director of Internal Communications Quest Diagnostics

“Your impact at Google has been significant… your message on climbing with people that want to get to the top together caused me to re-organize some of the major aspects of my team at Google.”
– Tim Armstrong, VP North American Sales, Google

About Erik Weihenmayer:

On May 25, 2001, Erik Weihenmayer became the only blind man in history to reach the summit of the world’s highest peak – Mount Everest. In 2008, when he stood on top of Carstenz Pyramid, the tallest peak in Austral-Asia, Weihenmayer completed his quest to climb the Seven Summits – the highest mountains on each of the seven continents. Fewer than 100 mountaineers have accomplished this feat.

Erik’s motivational speaking focuses on harnessing the power of adversity, the importance of a strong “rope team” and the daily struggle to pursue your dreams. Weihenmayer’s accomplishments show that one does not need perfect eyesight to have extraordinary vision.

Clients have included Google, Bank of America, General Mills, Procter & Gamble, Wal-Mart, Cisco Systems, Hilton, Abbott, IBM, Merrill Lynch, Cingular, General Electric, Baxter, American Express, Wells Fargo, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, and UBS.

Erik has shared the speaking platform with notables like Mayor Rudy Giuliani, General Norman Schwarzkopf, and President George Bush, and authors Tom Peters, Marcus Buckingham, and Stephen Covey.

Erik can be booked as a speaker with or without a Dinner in the Dark accompaniment.
