Sidewalk for Sylvia Campaign Launched
Help us raise $5,000 to complete a sidewalk in Costa Rica!
As part of the 2009 World Aware Educators expedition to Costa Rica, the team conducted a service project for the Chilamate elementary school in Saripiqui, completing 16 meters of sidewalk connecting the school to the Saripiqui Conservation Learning Center. Because the school and the center are located on a busy two-lane highway, children need a safe way to travel along this dangerous road. We are raising $5,000 to complete the sidewalk in honor of Sylvia Ahermae, a science teacher in Poudre School District, who was passionate about experiencing the world around her. Sylvia recently passed away unexpectedly.
