My name is Mark and I am a senior at Monte Vista High School in Danville California. I chose to apply for this global explorers program because I love the outdoors and challenges. I believe that this trip will present challenges that you can only face on a trip like this. I think that traveling to Peru and hiking the mountains will be an awesome once in a life time experience. During the trip I am looking foreword to meeting the group and hiking the mountains of Peru.

An interesting fact about me is that I am very mechanically inclined and have completely restored a 1955 Chevrolet truck. Another interesting fact is that since I was 10 years old I have been going backpacking every year
