Leading the Way: Rim to River
On the Leading the Way Rim to River expedition, you will spend time on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon engaging in meaningful service and cultural immersion, then experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: rafting the majestic Colorado River. This Global Explorers program is offered in cooperation and partnership with Grand Canyon Youth and Grand Canyon National Park. One of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World, Grand Canyon is the perfect setting to explore science,culture, leadership and service. In partnership with Grand Canyon Youth and Grand Canyon National Park, this program will combine blind, visually impaired, and sighted students on the adventure of a lifetime! You’ll spend the first 3 days engaging in service and experiencing the vast culture of the area on the South Rim of the Canyon. You’ll spend the next 7 days on the upper half of the world-renowned Colorado River, where your team will raft exhilarating whitewater, float through calm stretches and journey by foot through slot canyons.

Who: B/VI and sighted teens ages 15-19 at time of expedition (10 students max)

Price: $2,250 + Airfare to/from Phoenix, AZ
Scholarships are available! (Note:Price includes all spring preparatory retreat expenses, including airfare to/from Denver, CO, and all other costs associated with expedition.)
2012 Leading the Way Program Scholarship Information: Scholarships are available, including at least two full scholarships for Leading the Way participants from the Pacific Northwest. We will send you additional scholarship details upon receipt of your application.
