PSD Gifted and Talented Canyon Skies

This exciting program, developed by Global Explorers, in partnership with Grand Canyon Youth, explores youth leadership against the backdrop of the stunning Southwestern United States. On this journey specifically designed for Poudre School District gifted and talented students, the team will raft the San Juan River, travel to the spectacular Canyon de Chelly National Monument, and conduct service on the Navajo Nation, the largest Native American reservation in the country. Poudre School District GT students (must have an Advanced Learning Plan) currently in 8- 9th grades (2010/2011) will be given priority in the application process. We are, however, accepting applications from current 7th grade students and will consider them if we do not receive enough interest from 8-9th graders. The expedition is currently scheduled for May 30 -June 7, 2011.

We have scholarship money available for those experiencing financial hardship. To apply for a scholarship, please complete the financial aid section of the application and submit a copy of your family's most recent 1040 tax form. Participants who receive a scholarship will be responsible for paying or fundraising $200 and non-scholarship participants, $1,100. See program details for more information.
