GEx Educator of the Year Award

Our mission at Global Explorers is to develop global citizens through travel that exposes students to a more comprehensive view of the world. However, global citizenship starts at home, with the education that those same students receive every day. That’s why we’re looking to honor one teacher in 2011 who is teaching students to be responsible global citizens in the classroom.

The 2011 Global Explorers Educator of the Year Award will be presented at the 2011 Citizen of the World Awards in Boulder, Coloardo in November of 2011. The selected educator will be honored alongside other category award winners, including Sargent Shriver, founder of the Peace Corps, who will be receiving the Citizen of the World Award posthumously. Travel to and from the event and lodging will be provided for the selected educator.

What is a Responsible Global Citizen?
A responsible global citizen continually explores the complexity and interconnectedness within our world, emerging as a self-aware servant leader who strives to make the world a more equitable, sustainable place now and for generations to come.
