Bozeman High School, Montana

I believe that I have the skills and characteristics to come on this incredible journey and be an able and helping member of the team trekking across the Inca Trail. I hope to learn to better my skills in teamwork, humility, friendship, and hard work.

My interests are mainly focused on the outdoors. I rock climb in the Bridger and Gallatin mountain ranges, mountain bike down the beautiful trails that crisscross the hills around the Gallatin valley, and hike into remote mountain lakes for camping. In the winter, I ski avidly at our local ski area and go backcountry skiing fairly often in the Mountain ranges around the valley. In school I participate on the cross-country running team, track team, and tennis team. I am also the editor for the outdoors section of the high school news paper and an active participant in Model UN and Business professionals of America.

I am exuberant about the opportunity to participate and be part of this awesome experience. I have traveled quite a bit and I can’t wait to go on this trip next summer. I have traveled to Europe twice and while there climbed in the Dolomites as well as explored castles and museums. My family traveled to Mongolia where we built a climbing wall in the capital.

When I hear the word “leader”, I think of someone who is kind, compassionate and teaching. I also think of someone who has the ability to lead a group of people with confidence and skill and has the ability to inspire hope and confidence. I think that my leadership skills include helping others enjoy an experience, being humble, having good spirits for all group activities, and providing friendship. On the Super Inca Trail, I hope to experience fun, team building, and most of all to make some new and lasting friendships.
