Anna Sun Prairie, Wisconsin
Traveling has always been a love of mine. Whether it be to Peru, South America or to my family cabin in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, anywhere holds an adventure.During the summer of 2004 I was fortunate enough to travel to Peru, South America where I visited the Amazon Rainforest for two weeks. Last summer I returned to Peru only this time, I spentmy timein the Andes Mountains. Themost amazingaspect of thistrip was the people with whomI traveled.Eighteen sighted, visuallyimpaired, and blind studentsteamed up and hiked the Super Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. I made great friends and it was the adventure of a life time. Further plans of travel include a trip to Tanzania, Africa where I, along with the 2006 Leading the Way Team will climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Traveling to Peru twice has greatly expanded my perspective of the world. International travel has given me the opportunity to see what the world has to offer. It has also taught me how to take risks and embrace new experiences.

I am currently a senior in high school in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. I play soccer year round and am involved in many school activities, such as, National Honor Society and Student Council. In the fall of 2007, I will attend the University of Wisconsin Madison where I plan on studying medicine. Sometime throughout my college education I hope to study abroad althoughI am not yetsure where exactly. I believe that receiving a college education while learning about another culture is a great way to learn more about myself and my place as an individual in this vast world. I am very excited and can hardly wait!
