Meet Our Staff

Jordy Oleson American Youth Leadership Program Coordinator

From the GEx website:

Jordy learned early on the importance of living life to its fullest and always following your heart.  This mentality led Jordy to his first international immersion experience as a volunteer instructor for a 3rd and 4th grade class at an environmentally-based ESL school in Monteverde, Costa Rica.  While abroad for the first time, Jordy reinforced his attitude toward life and further developed an appreciation for foreign cultures, adventure, and sustainable development.  He is now dedicated to sharing similar experiences with as many people as he can.  In addition to his time spent in Costa Rica, he has enjoyed significant independent travel throughout Central and South America, and Southeast Asia.

Jordy graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: Marketing, as well as a Spanish Minor and an International Business Certificate from Colorado State University.  He has worked professionally in marketing, program development and as an Expedition Leader for Global Explorers in Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, Cambodia, Grand Canyon and the U.S. Southwest.  He has also served on the Board of Directors for a volunteer organization that assists communities around the world with sustainable economic development projects.

In his free time, Jordy enjoys music, pretending to know how to cook, and attempting to break the world record in Tetris.  In the winter you can find him snowboarding, and in the summer you can find him playing kickball, riding his bicycle or just tossing a frisbee around with his friends.
